LaCrosse Baptist Church

My name is Troy A. Turner, I became the “bi-vocational” pastor at Lacrosse Baptist Church in January of 2023. Thanks for visiting our church web page. I would like to tell you a little about myself and hopefully when you visit our church, I’ll get to hear some of “your story.” I grew up in Crestview Florida and became a follower of Jesus Christ in 1976, when I was seven years old. That began my journey of loving Christ, serving Christ, obeying Christ, and being a student of His world. I’ve now been striving to faithfully follow Jesus for the last forty-seven years, that makes me 54 years old as of Feb. 2023. I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Nina, for 32 years. We have three children (two daughters and a son), one son-in-law, and our precious first grandchild, whose name is Judah who is almost a year old.

I have been in the ministry since 1996 and I have served the kingdom of God as a youth pastor, worship leader, short term missionary and a senior pastor. I currently work full-time at Bear Archery in Gainesville, as a CNC machine tech. I believe that at this point of my life, God intends for me to remain a bi-vocational pastor that is called to serve small rural congregations who cannot support a full-time pastor.

My personal vision for both life and ministry is to Enjoy God, Encourage Families, and Engage the world. As I endeavor to do these things personally and lead a church to pursue these same three goals, we will be faithful to worship God with all that we are; minister to one another in the love of Christ; and take the gospel of Jesus Christ to all the world with the desire to make disciples of all nations! We are a small congregation who are seeking to work with Christ in building His kingdom here in LaCrosse FL, one person at a time. Once again, thanks for visiting this page and I look forward to meeting you when you are able to stop by for a visit!
